A Little More About Lalique Glass
Lalique glass is often a combination of clear white and frosted glass which was treated with hydrofluoric acid. Lalique glass is lead based, either mold blown or pressed. Molded birds, nudes, and flowers have been popular subjects. Favored motifs during the Art Nouveau period were dancing nymphs, fish, dragonflies, and foliage. Lalique glass is still being made. Pieces made after 1945, following Rene Lalique's death, bear the mark Lalique.
